In response to the COVID-19 pandemic, and the challenges that many Americans will face in the coming months, FCC Chairman Ajit Pai recently announced the Keep Americans Connected Initiative. This ensures that Americans do not lose their broadband or telephone connectivity as a result of these exceptional circumstances, Pai specifically asked broadband and telephone service providers, and trade associations, to take the Pledge. The Range Companies – Range Telephone Cooperative, Inc., RT Communications, Inc., Dubois Telephone Exchange, Inc. and Advanced Communications Technology, Inc. – are proud to be among those service providers who have pledged to Keep Americans Connected.

The annual meeting is being postponed due to the recommendations which have been made by the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention regarding gatherings of 10 or more people. The Annual meeting has been postponed until such time as the Centers for Disease Control and Prevention, the State of Montana, and the State of Wyoming have changed their recommendations regarding events and group gatherings.
Range’s Bylaws allow the Cooperative to continue its business and that failure to hold the Annual Meeting at the designated time will not cause a forfeiture or dissolution of the Cooperative based on the language in Article III, Section 1 of the Cooperative Bylaws. Furthermore, Article IV, Section 2 and Article VI, Section 2 allow the current directors and officers to continue their current positions until their successors have been elected and qualified.
“We want to assure our members that the Board of Trustees, management, and the staff of the Range Companies will continue to provide services to its Members and customers through this uncertain time,” said Rob Johnstone, Range’s CEO. “The Annual Membership Meeting will be rescheduled as soon as reasonably possible following the lifting of the COVID-19 restrictions, but until such time, the Range Companies will continue to provide services to its Members and customers.”
